Water in Europe will go into private hands. Do we approach the point of absurdity?

According to the European Union "Competition is good for business - more competition leads to lower prices and better products". It would not be surprising for the fact that the European Commission wants to implement this assumption to the ... water. If the EU gets what he wants, then private companies will soon be able to obtain licenses to operate public water systems in the field.

The starting point for the activities of the European Commission's regulation of water were in Germany. So far, water supply remained there at the discretion of local authorities. Most cities and town councils themselves manage water supply systems and maintenance of water pipes, but sometimes (in certain cases) the council should grant concessions to private companies.

Berlin serves as an example of what can happen when the management of water supply is privatized. Price for water in the German capital has steadily increased (by 30%), according to the population decreased quality. By Matthias Ladsstättera, an expert in water management "of the 30 percent increase, at least six to ten percent of the net profit, which neither was discharged back to the budget of Berlin, nor was intended to improve the delivery of water services."

Even dosadniejszym example is London, which represents the most striking case of mismanagement of the water supply system as a result of privatization. According to Evelyn Gebhard (German MEP) in the capital of the UK, 40 per cent of water "filtered out of control into the ground, because companies do not invest in a system of pipes and water supply."

So where's the controversy over the action taken today by the European Commission? Experts fear that the EU legislation may force governments to privatize water supply management. Directive on public service concessions, which also include water supply sector, is intended to level the playing field across Europe. The project was presented by the European Commission at the end of 2011. In March this year, the European Parliament will vote on whether to adopt the directive.

"Currently, the proposed system is that it lumps together different sectors, it is detrimental to the local authorities," says Evelyn Gebhard. Public water systems were never intended to generate profits, but to provide clean water to all citizens. At EU level, water services has so far remained under the control of the Member States, but this may soon change.

Recent years of experience to the privatization of water around the world demonstrate that there is much evidence to undermine the legitimacy of these activities. A new report from Canada's Blue Planet Project, called "Our right to water - case studies for the economy and the privatization of water in Europe", reminds us once again that the privatization of water means that the "service function worse, people are losing their jobs, and private monopolies oriented only on profits.'s not good economics. "

Water is not just H2O, water is life. Access to potable water has been recognized by the United Nations as a fundamental human right. Water, however, the multi-billion dollar business. It seems that Brussels already decided: water in the future will belong to the private corporation and not to everyone.

Russians should count on themselves

As a response of NATO's anti-missile defence system, Russian authorities had decided to create their own shield, which will defend them against potencial attack from the West. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin had informed about this plan on his Twitter account on Sunday. It was response to words said by NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, who announced that the shield will be established to defend European population, Rogozin replied that its Russian version woul be created in the same purpose.

The negotiations about the anti-missile shield are being held for years. During previous Russia-NATO summit in Lisbon on November 2010 both sides declared cooperation and consulations on this field, but during recent months the situation had changed and it seems to get much worse. It can be connected with the growing tensions in the Middle East, especially in Syria, where Russia and China are blocking all UN resolutions against the government in Damascus.


There are also other problems - both sides claim that there are totally different reasons to install the shield. According to Russians the rockets would be established to close to their borders, while Americans insist that the shiled would be only for defensive purposes in order to defend Europe against rockets coming from North Korea and Iran.

Seven deadly sins of European integration

- The most important nowadays is to save Europe as an integrating continent, because the alternative will be its collapse. When I hear, that Great Britain is drifting away from Europe and I can see the satisfaction on the faces of some politicians I know, that we should blow the whistle - Polish prime minister Donald Tusk has said two days ago - The most important for the European Union is to show the way to further European integration. 

Why the European Union is falling apart? These are the 7 deadly sins:

1. Lack of preparation of the member states for the process of integration and weak fundaments of euro,

2. Too rapid growth of EU without fiscal and monetary integration,

3. Formal integration before growing transnational european identity,

4. Lack of institutional supervision,

5. Conflict between the efforts to establish wide-spread fiscalization and national interest of the member states, 

6. Lack of logic anchoring  in economic theory the amount of deficit criteria and public debt related to GDP for the eurozone,

7. Lack of fundamental condition of succesful integration: the economic ability of each of the member states to hold the competition and market forces in the EU

With the grenade and hammer

President Dmitry Medvedev has declared that the strike systems will be displayed in the area close to Russian western and southern border. Iskander missiles will be also placed in the Kaliningrad region.

It is the answer for the lack of Washington’s agreement on joining Russia to European anti-missile defense system. Medvedev has announced on Wednesday that he will order the Ministry of Defense to “run in a warning system radar station in Kaliningrad without delay”.

He stated that Russia still remains open for a dialogue with the United States and NATO. "We are not closing the door to further dialogue on missile defense with the US and the North Atlantic alliance, nor to practical cooperation in this area. We are ready for further dialogue, the path towards such work depends upon the creation of a clear legal basis for our cooperation that will reflect our legitimate interests" - said Medvedev.

Few days before, one of Russian military officials had warned about that the risk of the nuclear war near the European border. General Nicolai Makarov who is closely connected with the prime minister Vladimir Putin had claimed that: “under certain circumstances, local and regional conflicts can become large-scale wars when the usage of nuclear weaponry might be used”. In his opinion the risk is connected with the change of the military alliances in this part of the continent and NATO expansion to the east. 

It may look that the Russian officials, despite vast political ambitions to create global reality, are still close to the strategy of the hammer or baseball bat. In place of economic dominance, innovation and advanced technology they take military power as their main argument. They still lack not only political finess but also simple originality.

But can we be sure about that?

People close connected to Goldman-Sachs influencing Europe

British “The Independent” puts some light on particular connections between one of the largest banks in the world, the Goldman-Sachs and many high-rank state officials from eurozone countries. 

The authors of the article are reminding that the new Italian prime minister, Mario Monti, was earlier an European commissioner for competition and was bank’s advisor for many years. It is not only one example. 

Jean Claude Trichet’s successor on the seat of the chairman of ECB, Mario Draghi in the 2002-2005 period was managing director of the bank and later he returned to public service as a chairman of Italian central bank. Not a long time ago European division of IMF was managed by Antonio Borges who had similar connections, while Otmar Issing as a board member of the German Bundesbank and then the European Central Bank, was one of the architects of the euro. 

Less likely to surprise us are connections of the Greek politicians, where Petros Christodoulou, who is managing government debt was beginning his career in Goldman-Sachs, while present prime minister, Lucas Papademos used to work as a chairman of the Greek central bank and is also a member of Trilateral Commission. 

Goldman-Sachs bank is being cattily called a “Vampire Squid”. In the rank I was quoting in the Polish version ofthis blog, I have displayed the rank of the 147 most influential companies in the world. At that time, Goldman-Sachs was 18th but the rank was based on the data from 2007, I wonder which rank would the bank have now?

London on fire

Nearly twenty years ago, after  Rodney King was beaten the police were for quite a long time not able to control the riots that erupted in Los Angeles. In the middle of the past decade, the suburbs of Paris and Lyon were terrorized by groups of rebellious young people who, through theft, robbery and arson allegedly wanted to express their discontent. Today, as a result of the death of Mark Duggan 29-year-old London is terrorized by well-organized (using Facebook and Twitter) groups of young people who organize riots in yet new districts. What is worse, the conflict spreads onto next cities. 

A lot of myths concerning the riots have sprung up and will spring up. Let us not be naive; simple schemes do not work in in the case of what is happening in England. We are faced with something new, not only because of the use of Internet and mobile phones, which, after all helped the revolutionaries in Egypt not so long ago. You also can not assume that just as it happened in France, the people who made the streets of Ealing, Totenham or Camden look like Baghdad neighbourhoods are just immigrants or their descendants. Among them you can meet native English who, like the others, steal, set fire and fight against police. Neither can we assume that people who rob stores, especially those with jewellery and electronics do it for a reason motivated by ideology. The most important thing to them is to take over the confusion; many do it because their friends do it. There is no place for thinking in a crowd. 

It's hard to tell how it will end, I think this may be just the beginning. For certain, the problem of assimilation of such a large number of immigrants will be presented as the main source of problems. Moreover, let us remember that everything is happening just two weeks after the tragedies in Norway, where the main motive of the bomber was a pro-immigration policy of the ruling party. 

Riots in the streets of England and Greece, protests in Spain, waves of immigrants on the Italian coast, returning and even more serious financial crisis. Are these the first signs of the ending of an era of social order? What we read today in most newspapers or hear on radio and television are: crisis, rebellion, resentment, failure, riots, unemployment, anxiety, conflict. This may be a coincidence, but who knows if this is not another step in the master plan to destroy Europe as we know it. 

Hidden power

Not long time ago, famous Danish director, Lars von Trier had stated, that he is a nazi and he understands Hitler’s views and behaviour. He immediately became unwanted person in all possible places. Of course soon after he said so, he changed his mind and cut off from this statement. Anyway, Lars von Trier can admit that he has a good knowledge about the Third Reich. He once made a movie titled “Europa”. It takes place in a train riding through the Western Germany soon after World War II had ended. The most interesting is one, very symbolic scene. Americans, who were occupying this part of Germany were veryfying former nazi activists and people openly supporting Hitler’s regime. Among them was rich and influential German enterpreneur. When he was shown to a Jew (played by the director himself), who was working as a slave labour for his company, he was recognized, but after a moment of consternation, the Jewish worker said that he didn’t know this man. The enterpreneur was acquitted. Viewer learns that the Jew hid the truth because he was convinced by Americans who needed big business’ help to rebuild ruined country. This example is one of the stories from that times, when one was manifested and the other was done. Revealing the truth is always connected with disappointment.

To those who believe in miracles

It is impossible not to comment. The case of bin Laden’s death for sure needs balanced opinion, while it confirms itself, that the solutions cannot be divided in simple right or wrong classification. What had hapenned, so much exceptionable in a Christian context, will surely satisfy, according to the Code of Hammurabi, a great tragedy of September 11th. I am just wondering - what had suddenly happenned, that the man living in a nice mansion for a couple of years was killed, while we should expect him living in a cave hidden deep in mountains? A “bogeyman”, thanks to who they have spent billions of dollars flowing into a certain group of people. Because of him, milions of people who crossed American airports were invigilated and catalogued. Are we going to catalogue all Europeans now, if the terrorists are going to blow a nuclear bomb in Europe? Is it what is all about? Should we really believe, that at the age of technology, which allows to see a needle in a haystack from  the space, the American intelligence, full of real masterminds was at last iluminated after 10 years?  What is the connection between the death of a terrorist and the events in Libya and other countries? Maybe it is a beginning of political campaign in style of Alfred Hitchock, where everything starts from an earthquake and then the tension starts to grow. I esteem Americans higher and that is why I smile when reading these global revelations for naive. 

Europe after the war

It seems that all the nazis committed suicide or they were executed, died in prison or have hidden somewhere. It can lead to conclusion, that in 1945 the ideology of these dangerous people was finally dead. It seems that Hitler committed suicide and this was the final day of the cult of personality. Though, there had begun a new war for the influence fought without any compromise. Europe was not that Europe from the times before the war. The US entered into the game with its mass of their own well educated agents. They started to interfere in key situations,  in some of the countries and started to direct them. In Russia millions of people were killed. Part of fascist ideologists, Russian dictators, and probably also several American power-outsiders prepared a conspiracy. Many years ago, the creator of both systems came into conclusion, that their last experiences had clearly shown, that destroying each other has no sense, but the cooperation without any conflict can provide them to domination on the world. A modified pre-war Ribbentrop-Molotov pact was renewed. The authors of the new conception had believed, that the alliance between both large states is not only an idea to make the ideology of a New Order come true not only in Europe but in the whole world.  The worst thing what I know is that in this “conspiracy” took part also American intelligence officers who had lost their power and influence. To reach this aim, they needed time, money and the people who will be available to finish their work after their death.

They believed, that they will be born once again in this world created by them. They believed in an aware reincarnation. They needed people, who under their influence, will make real the ideologies alternative to Christianity, also with the alliance between Germany and Russia, with other powerful people taking part.

These people are looking for absolute power. They could murder millions of people in order for their sick plans. Why couldn’t they risk another catastrophy?

To accomplish their plan, they needed money and people. At the beginning they have decided to finance their ideas using robbed treasures of the Third Reich. Later, many other, tempted by the absolute power billioners we joining. Their number had grown after the fell of the Berlin Wall. They have created an enormous mechanism of influence - people organised in so called the Order of Wewelsburg.
