Scandal in Italy - Benedict XVI is going to die in coming year?

Whole Italy was discussing the news about revealing the note in which pope Benedict XVI was supposed to die in the coming year.

This anonymous, written in German note was had been published by left-wing daily "Il Fatto Quotidiano", one of the largest newspapers in Italy. It was supposedly given to a pope in January by cardinal Dario Castrillon Hoyo. As the source for these notes is considered archbishop of Palermo, Paolo Romeo, who was visiting China last year.

The information was contradicted by Vatican as "nonsense", but it didn't disturb to start a real histeriain Italian media. Comentators have been pointing out, that the archbishop of Palermo didn't have a private visit in China, but according to "Il Fatto Quotidiano" his main aim was to represent the Church in the country.


As prince Gorchakov once said: “I don't believe in news that are not officially denied”, that is why we should consider why such an experienced diplomat as archbishop Romeo is, had revealed such information?

Benedict XVI is not the youngest one, he will be 85 this year, but there can be something more behind the information about pope's possible death, maybe they know something about his health? There were some rumors about possible assasination of Benedict XVI, but it seems that if anybody wanted his death, he would be in a hurry.

Exorcist – father Malachi Martin

Malachi Martin (1921-1999) catholic priest, exorcist, former Jesuit. He was very educated, he held three doctorates. He was a professor at Biblical Pontifical Institute, he knew nine languages. 

He was born in a catholic family in Ballylongford, Count Kerry, Ireland. He became a Jesuit novice in 1939. He was studying in Ireland and Belgium, where he received doctor’s degree in Semitic languages, archeology and oriental history. 

At the age of 33 he was ordained a Jesuit priest. 

He took part in n the research of the Dead Sea Scrolls and other archeological researches in the Middle East. During the reign of Pius XII he traveled publicly and clandestinely to Eastern Europe and Soviet Russia where he carried out sacramental missions and was active in intelligence gathering for the Church. 

From 1958 until 1964 he was in Rom, where he a private secretary for cardinal Augustin Bea SJ and pope John XXIII. 

In 19654 Paul VI gave him special dispensation from his vows of poverty and obedience. He kept his vow of chastity. This is how he commented this decision: 

"It was a grave decision, I could see the way the Church was going, the way churchmen were going in their decisions and all the anchors I had for morality and zeal were being undone. Then when the Vatican Council started in 1962, I could see the way the flow of opinion was going in the Vatican by a group of cardinals from Belgium, Germany and France. They were maneuvering the Church into totally new ecclesiology. I couldn't accept this." 

Having undoubtedly knowledge about internal affairs in the Holy See he had described a conspiracy, which was going to take over whole Church, he was convinced that the was a Masonic conspiracy behind the Second Vatican Council. In his book modern world is under rule of evil, conspiracy and widespread sexual perversion. In his opinion between the members of the Church are being possessed by the devil. 

When in late 1990’s he was asked about what has happened with the Church he said: 

"Well, the Church itself has not been given to Lucifer, he was enthroned in the Vatican by Vatican officials. That doesn't mean he possesses the Church yet. The Church anyway is an ambiguous term because it either means the actual physical bloc of churches, convents, libraries, academies, parish houses and cathedrals, the physical plant. Or it means the group of faithful in the state of grace whether they are alive in Purgatory or in Heaven. That is the body of Christ." 

The other day he claimed: "There has always been, since the fourth century, this organization set up by the Emperor Constantine. But that is not essential for the Church. The Church can exist without it. So that mystical body of Christ has not fallen into Lucifer's hands. The organization to some degree has. That's the difficulty."

Pope’s voice

On March 10th in Vatican there is going to be an official presentation of a new book by the Pope Benedict XVI. The book will be released in the atmosphere of sensation and accuses of the change of interpretation of history. Italian media find the words of Benedict XVI very important, giving Jews total exculpation, after being accused for condemning Jesus to death. I do not feel competent enough to guess the thoughts of the “head of the Church”, but what actually happens is that the Pope’s words had completely changed the political view and will be by many treated as the modest, but still political manifestation over the popular way of thinking. Is it really what is going to happen? In his book the Pope is asking a fundamental question: “Firstly, let us ask a question: Who were the prosecutors? Who had insisted to crucify Jesus?”. What is more, the author seems to give his opponents and one-side readers some arguments writing: “Jesus was not a political rebel” and then is even more controversial: “In Evangelical stories there are differences which we should consider. Due to John there are simply the Jews. But word does not absolutely mean - as a modern reader can possibly think - an Israeli nation as a whole”, it is even more obvious that it does not have “racial” meaning. Does the Pope relate directly into a political context he wants to be promoted? The second volume of his personal thoughts with the subtitle “Holy Week: From the entrance into Jerusalem to the Ressurection”, which was released almost four years after the first one, is a detailed analysis of the Gospels coming with the political analysis of that times. He creates a connection between that time and the modern times: “We can all see the terrible results of violence motivated by the religion. The Kingdom of God, kingdom of humanity cannot be established using violence. Despite the attemps of using the religion and its idealistic motivation, it still remains a favourite tool of Antichrist. Violence does not serve humanity but anti-humanity”. The author seems to give a signal for the people interested in Vatican political relations and its engagement in the worlds politics. The case of a new point of view from Jewish community is in this context very significant and will be interpreted for a very long time. An example? Polish Gazeta Wyborcza writes, that the chairman of the World Jewish Congress, after being acknowledged by the Pope’s writings has said, that despite the council‘s declaration in “Nostra Aetate” from 1965 and rejection of the theory of Jewish responsibility for Jesus’ crucifixion (we can find there an opinion that “we should not show the Jews as the cursed by God outcasts”), many catholics still keep this opinion. He claims that the rejection of the “false arguments in the personal book, is right, but probably not enough”. What kind of meaning would then have for us the judging words of Lauder who said that: “The Jews from all over the world very appreciate, that this Pope is absolutely determined to keep good relations between the Christians and the Jews”. Are the words of the Pope misinterpreted? Do they unmask his political intentions? What can they mean during the Middle East crisis? Should we understand Pope’s words so straightforward? One thing we can be sure - The Church has been shaping political relations for over two millennia as much as she could afford and as much as her opponents allowed her to do so.
