Computers eavesdropping our thoughts? It will soon be possible

Scientists from the Berkeley University in California can now announce their great success. They had informed about the scanner which is able to read human thoughts.

They have invited 15 English-speaking patients who suffer particular neurological diseases. Special holes were made inside their skulls and then 256 electrodes were inserted inside. Their task was to record brain signals.

After that, the patients were asked to listen to the words, while the scientists were recording brain activity in the temporal lobe. Then the data was transferred to the computers which had revealed the whole process and then it has recostructed the words earlier head by patients.

Of course we can only say that the only one experiment was succesful, but maybe this would be the first step to read human mind? This would be surely used not only by people with their language centers damaged but also intelligence agencies.
