Obama wants a world tax?

What the world government would look like? It would probably be the government which will be able (or will be going to) to gather taxes from all over the planet. Even if we consider the whole case from the other point of view, which means the global tax, there should exist some king of institution which will have a duty to gather the taxes and to discipline these countries which do not obey.

We need to ask ourselves what should we think of these ideas of creating a global tax? In many situations this would mean some efforts to make the world a little bit more just.

Maybe these are the reasons behind declarations of president Obama's economic advisor, Gene Sperling who claimed his support for a global tax. What is more, Sperling did not say this in a private interview but during oficial meeting in the White House. He later explained that the reason for his support is the fact, that there are many companies which are escaping into tax havens.

While the White House has oficially claimed that they do not support Sperlings view, the US president himself had stated something very similar soon after. As the Weekly Standard journalists had noticed, Obama had said during the meeting in Milwaukee, that there is a need for "international corporations to pay some kind of basic, minimal tax". Obama and Sperling had used different names, but we can guess that they were speaking about the same thing.
